visiting

Yesterday, I visited a friend of mine's house where is so lovely.
Another friend of mine kindly took me to the house with her by car
and we had an enjoyable chat each other with delicious pumpkin cake
made by the friend.

We initially knew each other through her blog.
I was looking up about flour around here and
found the blog by accident.
She is writing about the life in Princeton
and we can also see lots of photos of her baking
great array of cakes and breads!

I have commented on her blog a couple of times.
Then I was invited there.
So it was actually the first time for me to meet her.

I had a great fun with them.

THANK YOU, my friends.

Happy birthday

baked a piece of strawberries and cream cake.
've fogotten to take a picture of the cake itself.......oh dear....

Kouglof

baked dozen of kouglofs for colleagues.
I haven't tasted them. hope they are ok.

By the way, I found there were some breads
which taste sour over here.
I've come across them at some bakeries and they
are called "sourdough breads."
They are the one, if I understand correctly, which do not use
yeast but natural ferment.
Though I don't know if the name came from tasting sour,
the word is just interesting to me.

After I realised this, 'sour' and 'dough', I just wondered,
"What about doughnut?"
Is it 'dough-nut'????
Does anybody know whether the word of doughnut comes from
dough?
Possibly.

piano

I've finally got the piano in my apt. I left my own pianos in my country. I initially thought I might be somehow allright without the instruments. After a while, however, I got to miss playing the instrument. This is very interesting for me, because it enabled me to realise that I really need to be with music. It tells me I really love music.

How sophisticated these dresses are!

water purifiers

I have been having some troubles with water here.
I think that's mostly because of chlorine.
The chlorine is included more than necessary in tap water.
If you just keep using it, you could break the skin or
the colour of your hair could get lighter and thinner.
When I turn on the water, it smells really like swimming pool,
which is awful.
I decided to use the water purifiers like photos above
for my kitchen and bathroom.
I bought one for the kitchen from Aquasana
http://www.aquasana.com/category.php?category_id=1
and bought a shower filter for the bathroom from Sprite
http://www.spritewater.com/ .
I have tried other types but these work better than any other so far.
The water purifier in the kitchen is not "reverse osmosis" one.
So I can't say it's perfect for drinking water and I still buy
bottled water, but it's absolutely much better than nothing.
It doesn't hurt my skin any more, which makes me happy now.
